Aside from Bb and C—the most common trumpet types—trumpets tuned to higher notes can be found quite easily. These specialized models are mostly used in orchestras, playing for compositions in which the higher tuning helps improve accuracy and makes fingerings easier to switch notes. The E trumpet is one example of such an instrument. And while it might not get as much use as a Bb or C, the E trumpet is a worthy addition to a professional orchestral player's collection.
